The Section 199A, 20% Pass-Through Entity Deduction

The Section 199A deduction was included as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December, 2017. As soon as this new law was introduced, it needed significant clarification from either Congress or the Internal Revenue Service. After CPAs, Attorneys and other tax professionals asked for clarification, the IRS released regulations, new tax forms and other guidance in an attempt to clear up areas of confusion - specifically regarding to defining which trades or businesses qualify for the deduction.
